5-6 Port Setup
Port filters means setting static MAC addresses for a port. A static MAC address is a MAC address that never
ages out and so never has to be relearned. This may reduce the need for broadcasting. Enter 6 from the main menu
and then choose a port to configure by entering its index number. Go to the Edit Filter field, press [SPACE
BAR] once to select Yes and then [ENTER] to go to Menu 6.1.4 – Edit Filter.

Active Press [SPACE BAR] once to select Yes to enable the static MAC
address.
Static MAC Address Enter six hexadecimal number pairs separated by colons (valid MAC
address format).

Once you have completed filling in the menu, press [ENTER] at the message “Press ENTER to Confirm… “ to save
your configuration or press [ESC] at any time to cancel.

You must enable STP on the switch (in menu 2) before you configure it on a port(s).
