4. ‘Bits per second’: Here you have to set the baud rate so as to be identical to the one

of the novaNet router!, then press ‘OK’. This is very important.

5. Test the connection with your modem:-

Type ‘at’ and press the Enter key and check whether the modem answers with ‘OK’.

(If not, try ‘at&f’, probably at&f0, at&f1, depending on the modem brand, followed by

the Enter key. If the modem still doesn't answer with ‘OK’, you need to find the cause

of the problem.)

6. Configuring the modem

Type the following commands each followed by the Enter key:-

- ‘at&f’ (3COM: ‘at&f1’, Olitec: ‘AT&F&WZ’), Answer ‘OK’. Sets factory defaults

- ‘ats0=1’ Answer ‘OK’. Sets ‘Auto-Answer’.

- ‘atq1’ No ‘OK’ displayed anymore! Sets ‘no result code’.

- ‘ate0’ Nothing displayed anymore! Disables ‘command echo’.

- ‘at&w0’ Nothing displayed anymore! Saves settings in profile 0.

- ‘atz0’ Nothing displayed anymore! Sets ‘Load profile 0 on power on’.
